The Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga process is so much more than a physical exercise routine. In fact asana practice is only the third limb. The Yamas and Niyamas are the first two limbs of Patanjali’s Ashtanga Yoga. They are the moral and ethical guidelines that we can refer back to as we walk the path of yoga, and adhering to them can help us to live with more presence, harmony and peace. Gaining even a basic understanding of the yamas and niyamas is sure to bring a surge of positivity to our lives.
